We received a parcel of Montana sapphires and they are stunning. Mined in the U.S.A., these are ethically mined and traded. We are putting them in 18k and palladium engagement rings, and using smaller sizes in blush colors in eternity bands.
I’m excited about doing another take on the “sugar skull”. The carving wax shows the extraordinary detail you often see in traditional Day of the Dead pieces, while incorporating symbols personal to the client. It will be cast as a chunky sterling silver ring with various gemstones. In process.
Michael’s design process begins with a conceptual sketch and evolves into a formal drawing. A wax prototype is created, reviewed and approved for production and then the final mold is made. The mold is cast in metal, and a week or so later you have a beautiful finished piece.
